Abstract

Brakes are components that are used to slow down or stop the rate of engine movement by converting motion into heat and regulating the speed of decreasing the load. (Sonawan, 2015:). The design of brake components is carried out in order to get the appropriate design results. There are several factors that need to be considered when designing brakes, namely braking force, torque, braking power, wear volume, life time and materials. From the calculation results, the value of the service life is 7.35 months, the Braking Torque is 105.8 N.m, and the canvas material is Asbestos pressed hydroulically with plastic
