Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between wounded inner child and self-esteem in early adult individuals who are active students in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The study subjects were 220 active students from the classes of 2023, 2024, and 2025 who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using the wounded inner child scale and the self-esteem scale. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results showed a significant negative relationship between wounded inner child and self-esteem, with a correlation coefficient of -0.576 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). These results indicate that the higher the level of wounded inner child, the lower the level of self-esteem among active students in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University.
