Konseptualisasi Desain Media Pembelajaran Berbasis PowerPoint Menggunakan Canva AI pada Materi Munakahat di SMA

Abstract

This study aims to conceptualize the design of PowerPoint-based learning media utilizing Canva AI features on the topic of munakahat (Islamic marriage) at the Senior High School (SMA) level. This research is motivated by problems in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) instruction on the topic of munakahat, which has traditionally been delivered conventionally, resulting in students being less engaged and experiencing difficulty in comprehending abstract concepts such as the pillars (rukun), conditions (syarat), and wisdom (hikmah) of marriage in Islam. This condition indicates the need for more interactive learning media innovation, and the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology opens new opportunities to address this need, one of which is through the Canva AI feature integrated with PowerPoint slide development. This study employs a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach, through conceptual analysis of literature on learning media, cognitive load theory, multimedia learning principles, and technical studies of Canva AI features. The findings indicate that integrating Canva AI into PowerPoint enables teachers to efficiently produce aesthetically designed slides, contextual illustrations, and automatic narration, thereby potentially enhancing students' learning motivation and conceptual understanding of the munakahat material. The resulting conceptual framework encompasses the stages of needs analysis, material structure design, visual content generation through Canva AI, integration into PowerPoint, and formative evaluation. This study is expected to serve as a conceptual foundation for the development of AI-based Islamic Religious Education learning media at subsequent educational levels.
