Dari STKIP ke ISDIK Kie Raha Dinamika Kelembagaan Pendidikan Tinggi di Maluku Utara

Abstract

This article reconstructs the development of STKIP Kie Raha Ternate leading up to its transformation into the Institute of Science and Education (ISDIK) Kie Raha North Maluku, while also assessing its contribution to regional higher education. The study employs a historical method comprising heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Sources include institutional documents, higher education regulations, scholarly literature, and interviews with individuals familiar with the institution's history. The findings reveal four phases: the establishment of a teacher training institution to expand local access, the expansion of educational study programs, the strengthening of the "Tri Dharma" (Three Pillars of Higher Education) and academic quality, and the transformation into an institute encompassing science and health disciplines. The institution's contributions are evident in the provision of higher education access, the training of educators, the development of local historical studies, and community service. However, claims regarding dates, legal foundations, alumni numbers, and study program statuses require substantiation through verifiable primary archival records.
