Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the imagination suggestion method with the wonderful Indonesian vlog media in poetry text writing skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 28 Jakarta. At the assessment stage there are ten aspects of assessment, namely: theme, poet's feelings, tone / atmosphere, and mandate (elements of the inner structure) as well as diction, judgment, concrete words, figurative language, versification, and typography (physical structure elements). This study used an experimental method with a one group pre-test post-test design research model and had a sample of 27 students. Prerequisite test data analysis is done by normality test (Lilliefors), obtained Lo = 0.1580 <Ltable = 0.1665 on pre-test and Lo = 0.1530 <Ltable = 0.1665 with significance level α = 0.05 at post-test data declared normal distribution. Homogeneity test results (Fisher's Test) obtained Fcount = 1.30 and Ftable = 4.23, obtained that Fcount <Ftable, then the data has a homogeneous variance with significance level α = 0.05. The results of data analysis by t-test obtained tcount = 16.33> ttable = 2.056 results of interpolation with significance level α = 0.05. It can be stated that Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted. The results of this study indicate that the use of the imagination suggestion method with the wonderful Indonesian vlog media influences the writing skills of poetry text grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 28 Jakarta. The existence of this research is expected to be an additional knowledge about the methods that can be used in learning to write. As an alternative for students to get a more interesting and enjoyable way of learning, so that they can produce good poetry text writing, teachers can apply the method of imagination suggestion with the wonderful Indonesian vlog media. Besides that, it can also be implemented for short text learning material on basic competence 3.9 to analyze the elements of the short story builder in the story collection book and 4.9 construct a short story by paying attention to the elements of the short story builder.
