Abstract
The use of language is closely related to the use of social media. There are several expressions found on social media, one of which is the use of hate speech. Users often use hate speech and are directed at a person or group. Considered something normal because everyone has the right to have an opinion, even though this harms the victim. Given this phenomenon, the authors are interested in conducting research that focuses on hate speech. This study aims to describe the types of illocutionary speech acts and types of hate speech in the Instagram post comments @rahmawatikekeyiputricantika23. The results explained that there were directive, expressive, and representative types of speech acts and utterances of hatred, insults, and provoking types in the comments on the post
